We are seeking a dynamic and analytical Senior Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to play a central role in our company's financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of financial tasks, including annual budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting, and general ledger functions.
Job Details
As a Senior Accountant, you will be tasked with the following:
1. Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit.
3. Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements.
4. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
5. Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
6. Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions.
7. Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.
8. Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
9. Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes, providing guidance and expertise to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
10. Work with the finance team to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
11. Collaborate with team members to support overall department goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a senior role.
3. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with a major ERP system.
5. Proven experience in managing the financial aspects of a business, including budgeting and forecasting.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
7. Experience with managing a team and fostering a cooperative work environment.
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
10. High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
