We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This is a permanent role where you will play a critical part in maintaining our financial health and driving our business strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting, cost accounting, and implementing new ERP systems. You will supervise two accounting clerks and assist the Controller in financial management and reporting of three separate manufacturing plants. This exciting opportunity requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures, along with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and conducting monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including month and end-year processes, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, etc.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
  • Assist with the implementation of new ERP systems and ensure smooth transition and efficient functioning.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop two accounting clerks, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic.
  • Assist Controller in financial management and reporting of three separate manufacturing plants.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting.
  • 5+ years of financial accounting/general ledger experience.
  • 5+ years of cost accounting experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a senior accounting role.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace and defense.
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and their implementation.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to direct and supervise.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
