A growing and sophisticated litigation practice is seeking a Mid-Level Commercial Litigation Associate to join its team. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who enjoys handling complex business disputes, taking ownership of cases, and working directly with clients in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, excellent writing skills, and the ability to manage matters through all phases of litigation, from case strategy and discovery through motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a diverse caseload of complex commercial litigation matters.
  • Draft and argue substantive motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and responses.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex legal issues.
  • Take and defend depositions, including fact witnesses, corporate representatives, and experts.
  • Develop case strategy in collaboration with partners and clients.
  • Prepare for and participate in mediations, arbitrations, evidentiary hearings, and trials.
  • Manage discovery, document review, and e-discovery processes.
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and third parties.
  • Assist with business development initiatives and client relationship management.
  • Mentor and collaborate with junior attorneys and support staff.

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with a state bar.
  • 5+ years of commercial litigation experience with a law firm.
  • Experience handling complex business disputes in state and federal courts.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience taking and defending depositions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
