Job Details
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Associate with experience in tax preparation and financial statement audits to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in both areas, with a proven track record of preparing tax returns and assisting in audit engagements. As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality services to clients, while developing your expertise and advancing your career in public accounting.

Tax Preparation:
- Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for a variety of clients, including corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
- Review financial statements and ensure accurate tax reporting.
- Utilize Lacerte tax software for preparing tax filings, ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
- Research and apply tax rules and regulations to identify opportunities for tax savings and deductions.
- Maintain effective communication with clients regarding tax matters, providing timely updates and responding to inquiries.
Audit Engagements:
- Assist in the planning and execution of financial statement audits, including understanding client operations and industry risks.
- Review financial records, supporting documentation, and internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to accounting standards.
- Perform detailed tests of transactions and account balances to verify the accuracy of financial data.
- Assess internal control systems, recommend improvements, and provide insights on risk management strategies.
- Coordinate with clients and audit teams to gather information and address any issues or questions that arise during the engagement.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in implementing efficiencies within tax and audit workflows.
- Collaborate with partners and senior managers on special projects and complex client matters.
- Stay updated on relevant industry trends, accounting standards, and tax regulations to provide informed advice and insights to clients.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in tax preparation and audit engagements at a CPA firm or in a similar professional services role.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and audit principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- A high degree of professionalism and attention to detail.
