We are on the lookout for a highly skilled and passionate Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is passionate about improving reliability, scalability, and efficiency of mission-critical services, and who is equally comfortable developing new services or tackling long-tail problems with existing services.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain robust and scalable backend solutions using Go, GCP, GKE, Ruby on Rails, Docker, and other technologies.
2. Design and build microservices that serve our API endpoints.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
4. Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
5. Openness to disagreement and commitment to decisions once made
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
2. 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer working on Microservices and API's
3. Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and deployment tools + a strong understanding of system performance and scaling.
4. Proficiency with K8s and Go, including a strong understanding of garbage collection and profiling.
5. Familiarity with our tech stack: GCP/GKE, Linux, Docker, Ruby/Rails, and Redis
6. Experience with video streaming at scale and Cgo is a bonus.
