Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Managing and controlling all the company’s external suppliers with particular emphasis on the purchase of Materials and finished parts for production.
2. Ensuring parts and materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time for production.
3. Regularly contacting suppliers to renegotiate prices.
4. Conducting research for new components and suppliers.
5. Compiling data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation.
6. Assessing and evaluating suppliers and contributing to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance.
7. Negotiating contracts, improved prices, and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
8. Implementing and managing supplier scorecard systems.
9. Working closely with others within the procurement function and review opportunities to maximize efficiency.
10. Preparing and raising purchase orders and order schedules.
11. Building, maintaining, and managing supplier relationships and keeping up good communications.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing industry.
2. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to negotiate contracts effectively.
3. Experience in managing supplier performance and building relationships with suppliers.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and purchase order software to track, report, and analyze your work.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Bonus points for experience with inventory management or procurement in a production setting.
