We are a leading construction company seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Construction Estimator to join our team. This is a permanent position that will play a pivotal role in our new construction and restoration projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates, analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation. The role requires a deep understanding of all aspects of construction, including architectural elements, metal, glass, windows, and window walls. Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and analyze project plans and specifications to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.
- Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction.
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Interface with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates.
- Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
- Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
- Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
- Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
- Establish and maintain tendering process and conduct negotiations.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role as a Construction Estimator.
- Proficiency in Estimating, Estimation, Architectural, Architecture, Metal, Glass, New Construction, Restoration, Building Restoration, Windows, Renovation, Window Wall, Bid, Bidding, Bids.
- A strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in using estimating software and spreadsheets.
- A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Experience with Erector tasks is a plus.
