We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Cost Accountant to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in our financial department by providing accurate and timely cost accounting and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all phases of cost accounting to provide accurate information for financial reporting and support of the Company's manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Cost Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Developing and implementing cost standards for materials and labor.
2. Designing and implementing cost accounting systems.
3. Analyzing production costs and recommending changes.
4. Overseeing the cost control systems, managing and interpreting cost audits, and preparing cost accounting reports for presentation to top management.
5. Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts and analyzing variances.
6. Interacting with management to develop capital spending policies, manage capital budgeting process and prepare necessary reports.
7. Conducting physical inventories and monitoring the cycle count program.
8. Reviewing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
9. Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
10. Maintaining Cost Accounting System.
11. Assisting in Month end close of the General Ledger.
12. Conducts physical inventories and monitors the cycle count program.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you should have the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
2. A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
3. Proficient in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
4. Extensive knowledge of labor and overhead rates, budgeting, and forecasting.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
