A bit about us:
We are currently seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our Accounting team. This is a permanent role with a primary focus on cost accounting and financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, SOX compliance and implementation, and Oracle Projects Module, among other skills. This role is a crucial part of our finance team and plays a significant part in maintaining the financial health of our organization.

Job Details
Responsibilities
1. Perform regular cost analyses on new and ongoing projects, comparing actual costs to forecasts and identifying any financial discrepancies.
2. Implement and monitor cost-effective strategies, working closely with the engineering and project management teams.
3. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual closing reports, ensuring all financial data has been recorded accurately.
4. Utilize Oracle Projects Module and AutoAccounting rules to manage project costs and generate financial reports.
5. Develop and maintain internal control systems to ensure SOX compliance.
6. Collaborate with auditors during annual audit processes.
7. Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making.
8. Review the company's accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.
9. Use cost accounting data to contribute to strategic planning and forecasting.
10. Conduct ongoing process improvements to reduce costs and improve financial efficiency.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
3. Proficient in Oracle Projects Module, AutoAccounting, and Oracle software.
4. Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and procedures, as well as GAAP.
5. Solid experience with "month end close" procedures.
6. Proven experience with SOX compliance and implementation.
7. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
8. Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, organizational, interpersonal, and teaming skills.
9. Excellent communication skills to manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
11. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
