We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Cost Analyst to join our team in the Engineering industry. This is a permanent role that offers an opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, high-performance team, where you will be responsible for managing and analyzing financial data. You will be the key point of contact for all cost-related matters, providing insights and recommendations to enhance financial performance and business decision-making.

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Cost Analyst to join our team in the Engineering industry. This is a permanent role that offers an opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, high-performance team, where you will be responsible for managing and analyzing financial data. You will be the key point of contact for all cost-related matters, providing insights and recommendations to enhance financial performance and business decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain cost standards and estimates, including labor, overhead, and material costs.
- Conduct monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, and cost roll-ups.
- Prepare, analyze and report monthly manufacturing variances comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, forecasts, and strategic plans.
- Perform inventory analysis and management to avoid low stock and surplus.
- Work closely with the engineering teams to develop cost reduction strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide cost analysis and financial insights.
- Ensure compliance with financial legal requirements and company policies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Participate in the development of new project proposals and project costings.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Engineering industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA will be considered an asset.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with monthly reporting, financials, annual budget, and inventory analysis.
- Proficiency in financial software and databases. (Oracle ERP) (SQL)
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and financial principles.
- Proven experience in cost analysis and financial forecasting.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
