Job Details


The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, results-driven, and able to communicate cost and budget information to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and manage project budgets for the Terminal 5 redevelopment program

Prepare detailed cost reports, charts, diagrams, and briefing materials

Review contractor invoices and verify alignment with Schedule of Values

Perform cost-to-complete analyses, considering staffing plans, contracts, change orders, and trends

Analyze and reconcile bid awards, change orders, and task orders against budgets and forecasts

Track commitments and expenditures within the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

Ensure accurate cost reporting in LAWA systems (Prolog preferred)

Support change management and reconcile budget adjustments through LAWA governance

Develop creative cost tracking and reporting tools for complex phasing and progress evaluations

Participate in project meetings to provide financial updates and risk insights

Ensure accurate closeout documentation and reporting within LAWA systems

Preferred Experience:

10+ years of cost engineering experience, preferably in aviation or large public infrastructure projects

Experience managing cost engineering teams

Proven ability to lead and manage cost reporting for large, multi-discipline programs

Familiarity with Progressive GMPs, Design-Build, and CMAR delivery methods

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and large-scale cost systems (Prolog highly desirable)

Skilled at analyzing and communicating complex financial data to diverse stakeholders

Highly organized, detail-focused, and accountable for accuracy and reporting quality

Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required

Certified Cost Engineer (CCE) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) required

Additional certifications (PMP, PE, etc.) are a plus

Work Requirements:

Full-time, on-site role at LAX (Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week; no remote work)

Must be available for occasional after-hours or weekend work as needed

Consultant must provide a company-issued laptop and cell phone

Transportation to/from worksite is the consultant’s responsibility

LAWA will provide a desktop computer for on-site access
