We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and coordinating complete estimates for our heavy civil projects, while providing knowledge and expertise in the area of project bidding and cost estimating. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and coordinating complete estimates for our heavy civil projects, while providing knowledge and expertise in the area of project bidding and cost estimating. Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates, budgets, and work timetables.
- Interpret and review system drawings to identify any potential cost issues and to ensure that all estimates are accurate, comprehensive, and competitive.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractor proposals and supervise estimating teams.
- Participate in proposal presentations to clients, government entities, and stakeholders.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to estimating processes to ensure accuracy and improved profitability.
- Collaborate with project management teams to follow-up on bids and contracts.
- Conduct risk analysis and manage risk throughout the life cycle of the project.
- Work closely with government contractors and adhere to all relevant regulations and standards.
- Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and technical developments that may impact cost, schedule, and client's needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator in the heavy civil construction industry.
- Proficient in Estimating software and other construction management applications.
- Proven experience in project bidding, cost estimating, and contract management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of heavy highway construction, heavy commercial construction, and working with government contractors.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and the ability to interpret technical specifications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) certification is a plus.
