A bit about us:

A Start Up Company is looking for a high energy, detail-oriented and hands-on individual to join the accounting team as an Accounts Payable Accountant. This role is based out of our New York City Headquarters, is a hybrid position and will be reporting to the Controller.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and oversee the entire accounts payable process, including the accurate and timely processing of invoices, purchase orders, and payments.
2. Handle high-volume transactions, ensuring all financial data is up-to-date and accurate.
3. Perform month-end closing activities including the preparation of accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
4. Process weekly payments, including ACH and wire transfers, and manage bank reconciliations.
5. Maintain vendor relationships, ensuring all vendor queries are resolved in a timely manner.
6. Assist in tracking sales and property tax information, liaising with the tax department as needed.
7. Utilize Netsuite or equivalent software to streamline and automate the accounts payable process.
8. Collaborate with the finance team to implement process improvements, ensuring the accounts payable process is efficient and effective.
9. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
10. Provide support to other finance projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Accounts Payable, processing invoices, communicating with vendors, processing payments & AP accruals.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of AP transactions
