Job Details

Qualifications Needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred; CPA is a plus
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience, with significant exposure to private credit and closed-end fund structures
  • Experience at a credit fund or Big 4 firm preferred
  • Deep understanding of bilateral loans, credit documentation, and carried interest waterfall calculations
  • Demonstrated expertise in fair value accounting for illiquid credit instruments
  • Advanced Excel modeling capabilities for waterfalls and tracking
  • Experience with fund accounting platforms (Enfusion, Geneva, Partners, Precision LMS)
  • Must have a proven record of applying AI tools in financial analysis or workflow improvement
  • Self-starter with ability to operate independently in a lean, entrepreneurial team
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Willing to work a hybrid schedule in Boston

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Oversee month/quarter/year-end close with fund admin; validate NAV and PCAPs
  • Maintain internal shadow books for journal entries, allocations, and waterfall mechanics
  • Track and allocate investment income, including PIK, fee, and interest accruals
  • Plan capital calls/distributions and manage investor transfers in coordination with third-party administrators
  • Monitor loan covenant compliance and maintain supporting documentation for restructures and amendments
  • Lead internal cash control and support banking relationships
  • Assist with complex valuations of bilateral loans and illiquid instruments
  • Support regulatory filings: Form PF, ADV, 13F, 13D/G, and year-end audits
  • Analyze portfolio performance metrics and support ad hoc financial reporting
  • Proactively experiment with AI tools and techniques to improve reporting workflows and accuracy
