Job Details

As a Senior Grant Accountant, you will:

1. Manage the full cycle of grant accounting, from application, budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, to close-out.
2. Prepare and submit financial reports to funding agencies in accordance with grant agreements and guidelines.
3. Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and billing for grant-funded projects.
4. Review and approve grant expenditures, ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions, and organizational policies.
5. Maintain the grant management systems (HHS Accelerator and Grants Gateway), ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
6. Conduct regular audits of grant accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
7. Assist in the preparation of annual CFR reports and other regulatory filings.
8. Collaborate with the finance team to integrate grant accounting with the overall financial management of the organization.
9. Provide guidance and training to staff on grant financial management and compliance.
10. Stay abreast of changes in grant regulations and accounting standards, implementing necessary changes in policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA or advanced degree is a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in grant accounting, preferably in the real estate or non-profit sector.
3. Extensive knowledge of financial management, non-profit accounting, and property accounting.
4. Proficiency in grant management systems, particularly HHS Accelerator and Grants Gateway.
5. Experience in preparing CFR reports and other regulatory filings.
6. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
8. High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
9. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and accounting software.
