We are currently looking for a Senior Manager or Principal in Tax who will play a pivotal role in leading and growing our tax services practice across various industries, with a focus on growing the technology industry sector client base.

- Lead and execute tax-focused client engagements, delivering exceptional service.
- Collaborate with other team members to drive business development within the technology industry sector, leveraging technical skills, industry knowledge, contacts, industry trends, and emerging tax regulations to expand the firm's clients and services.
- Grow your professional network, attend industry events, and contribute to thought leadership to drive growth and business development.
- Participate in Toronto office and technology sector annual planning and goal setting. Monitor and contribute to the achievement of Toronto office and technology sector business plans.
- Provide technical tax expertise to staff and clients, serving as a go-to resource for complex tax issues, and ensuring that tax strategies are aligned with the latest tax laws, regulations, and industry trends.
- Manage and execute tax-related assignments, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources and effective management of budgets, while ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
- Review and analyze client-prepared tax filings, financial statements, and reports with a focus on identifying tax-efficient strategies, tax compliance, and managing tax risks across industries.
- Supervise and mentor staff, providing guidance to ensure that the firm's standards of quality, accuracy, and technical expertise are maintained, particularly in areas such as tax compliance, reporting, and strategy.
- Optimize engagement profitability by ensuring recovery rates are maintained at or above firm standards, while working with the team to enhance the efficiency of tax-related engagements and improve overall service delivery.
- Understand client business models and market dynamics, providing strategic tax advice and guidance, and helping clients optimize their tax position and navigate complex industry-specific tax issues.
- Proactively identify and address potential tax challenges, including changes in tax legislation, international tax issues, tax incentives, and regulatory changes that may impact clients' business decisions.
Qualifications:
- A minimum completion of a University Degree with a specialization in Accounting or equivalency.
- Completion of all requirements to obtain CPA designation.
- Completion of the In-Depth Tax Program
- A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in public accounting, with at least 2-3 years in a senior leadership position.
- Expertise in a broad range of tax issues, including corporate structuring, cross-border transactions, and tax incentives.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams, foster collaboration, ensure high-quality work, and provide strategic guidance.
- Experience in managing client relationships, offering advisory services, and addressing complex client needs.
