Nice to Haves
- Lead and champion lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives to achieve operational excellence throughout the production facility
- Develop, implement, and sustain value stream mapping, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement projects targeting efficiency, quality, and capacity
- Apply Six Sigma and root cause analysis tools for process troubleshooting, corrective action implementation, and reduction of defects
- Design, validate, and optimize manufacturing systems, equipment, fixtures, and processes for both new and existing products
- Generate and update manufacturing documentation including process flow charts, PFMEAs, control plans, work instructions, BOMs, and training resources
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and technicians in lean principles and best practices
- Collaborate cross functionally with teams in manufacturing, quality, product development, supply chain, and finance
- Analyze performance metrics and process data to use findings to drive measurable improvements in productivity and product quality
- Support New Production Introduction processes and oversee timely transition of new products to production lines
- Ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards across all manufacturing operations
- Travel occasionally to support external partners or outsourcers during product launch or improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with direct leadership in lean manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated success in driving major continuous improvement and waste reduction projects
- Proven expertise in 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Just In Time, Total Productive Maintenance, single piece flow, Kanban, error proofing, and standard work development
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and intermediate Microsoft Office suite applications
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills including work instructions, PFMEA, control plans, and standard operating procedures
- Ability to interpret and produce complex mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- Hands on approach to analytical thinking and problem solving with a track record of delivering measurable improvements
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
- Bachelor degree in engineering such as industrial, mechanical, mechatronics, or a related field
Nice to Haves
- Lean Green Belt certification or higher
- Six Sigma credentials and practical application experience
- Familiarity with specialized textile, garment, or industrial assembly manufacturing processes
- Advanced certifications in lean manufacturing systems or equivalent operational excellence programs
