Job Details
- A minimum of 10 - 15+ years of experience in the Architecture/Engineering field specializing in Mechanical (HVAC) design.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York State (NYS) is required.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for Mechanical HVAC design is essential.
- Strong knowledge of the International Building Code is required.
- Experience in Project Management and/or Discipline/Team Management is preferred.
- U.S. citizenship is required, and applicants may be subject to security background checks based on client requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design complete components of building mechanical HVAC systems.
- Assess existing project conditions and oversee project measurements.
- Consult with clients to define project objectives and available resources.
- Perform code analysis to ensure project compliance.
- Develop projects in alignment with engineering scope, budget, and schedule.
- Create Revit models based on existing documentation, plans, and surveys, coordinating with project team members.
- Prepare engineering contract documents and calculations using CADD equipment and HVAC design software.
- Select appropriate materials, equipment, and components.
- Conduct technical and coordination reviews of project documents.
- Develop project specifications and related documentation.
- Perform material quantity take-offs and prepare project estimates.
- Stay current with mechanical codes and industry standards.
- Review construction-phase submittals.
- Conduct periodic on-site inspections during construction to ensure compliance with construction documents.
