We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Permanent Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing for our multi-state operations. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the preparation, disbursement, and administration of payroll across multiple states, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
  • Resolve payroll-related issues efficiently and effectively, providing top-notch customer service to our employees.
  • Work closely with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data.
  • Maintain knowledge of current regulations, company policies, and best practices in payroll processing.
  • Handle payroll tax filings and reporting, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Prepare various payroll and management reports, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
  • Assist with audits and internal controls related to payroll and timekeeping.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of payroll processing and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll, with a focus on multi-state payroll.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in payroll software, with a preference for experience in ADP or similar systems.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to salaries, wages, taxes, benefits, and other payroll-related matters.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve payroll discrepancies and issues.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
