Job Details

Seeking a subject matter expert in Precision Navigation and Timing (PNT) to
support the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and its ongoing Science and Technology portfolio.

MINIMUM SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Requires strong expertise in the area of inertial navigation solutions, inertial measurement
technology, precision time sources, time transfer, global positioning systems, RF and non-RF
positioning, fiber optic gyros, atomic clocks, quantum devices, interferometry precision, optical
comb filters, electro-magnetic propagation, gravitometry, electro-magnetic scattering and
other phenomenology as applied to state of the art navigation solutions.
  • Experience in the science of navigation and timing in a way that will allow the candidate to
contribute to both GPS and non-GPS approaches to navigation.
  • The candidate should have demonstrated relevant science and technology experience and a
thorough working knowledge of the phenomenology, development, and application of PNT
technology in relation to naval requirements.
  • Possess a minimum of a SECRET clearance however personnel with a current eligible SSBI or an
active TOP SECRET clearance are preferred.

Educational and professional experience:
o Relevant publications, patents, citations, and awards.
o Broad naval operational and staff experience across the sub-surface, surface, and aviation
communities.
o Relevant certification, such as, Professional Engineering, that enable advising on the
approval of test and human safety factors during operations and experimentation phases.
o Relevant major international program support via NATO or other similar international
science and technology organization.
o Relevant major acquisition program management experience focused on moving
technology from science and technology to acquisition systems.
o Relevant development of demonstration and prototype hardware, software and systems.

EDUCATION:
This individual must have experience in one, or more, of the areas of the required Minimum
Skills/Qualifications and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in a relevant field. Individuals with a Master
of Science (MS) or a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) are preferred.


AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: You must pass a drug and pre-employment drug screening. U.S.
Citizenship Required. Candidate must follow all company and non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing.
*A Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants
selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility
requirements for access to classified information.
