We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Accountant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to apply their skills in job costing, construction accounting, property accounting, project accounting, year-end close, GL, cash flow, financial statements, invoicing, Yardi, loan draws, and construction draws. As a Senior Project Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our financial department, providing key insights and analyses that will drive strategic decisions and maintain the financial health of our organization. You will be responsible for the financial management of multiple projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with relevant laws and standards.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Project Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing the financial management of various projects, including job costing, construction accounting, property accounting, and project accounting.
2. Preparing and analyzing financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
3. Managing the year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
4. Overseeing cash flow management and providing insightful analyses and forecasts.
5. Handling invoicing, loan draws, and construction draws, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and standards.
6. Utilizing Yardi or equivalent software for efficient accounting and financial management.
7. Collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
8. Identifying opportunities for financial and operational improvements and implementing strategies to realize these opportunities.
9. Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
2. At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on job costing, construction accounting, property accounting, and project accounting.
3. Proven experience with year-end close, GL, cash flow management, financial statement preparation, invoicing, loan draws, and construction draws.
4. Proficiency in Yardi or equivalent accounting software.
5. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
7. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
8. A keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
9. A solid understanding of financial laws, regulations, and standards.
10. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
