Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and oversee all aspects of construction projects from initiation to completion.
2. Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors to ensure standards of building performance, quality, cost schedules and safety are maintained.
3. Review and analyze project specifications and proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects.
4. Implement effective communication plan and operating rhythm, including provision of regular and timely updates on project progress and issues.
5. Develop and implement risk management and contingency plans.
6. Ensure all legal requirements, building and safety codes, safety inspections, city guidelines, and local and state regulations are met.
7. Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards.
8. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists.
9. Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
10. Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a project management role within the construction industry.
3. Proven experience in public works projects
4. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
5. Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
6. Superior management and delegation capabilities.
7. High-level communication and negotiation skills.
8. Understanding of construction laws and regulations.
9. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
10. Proficient in MS Office and project management software.
11. PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
12. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
13. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
14. Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities.
15. Ability to predict and identify potential project risks.
16. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
17. Ability to maintain a strong focus on quality, safety, and customer service.
