Job Details / Responsibilities:
Lead new project pursuits, including development and management of proposals, schedules, and cost estimates; integrally involved in Business Development activities.
Provide expertise and leadership in design-build, design-assist, and other alternative project delivery methods.
Plan and execute the bid process for new projects to ensure depth in coverage and accuracy; lead risk assessment and mitigation efforts.
Demonstrate understanding of conceptual estimation and unit costs.
Develop conceptual and detailed estimates throughout preconstruction and construction, including GMP estimates and internal project budgets.
Develop contracts that protect the organization from unnecessary risk and enhance fee opportunities.
Lead the subcontractor buyout and selection process, including development and execution of subcontract agreements; resolve subcontract issues independently.
Perform and supervise all aspects of project management on complex or multiple projects, including estimating, preconstruction, procurement, submittals, change orders, RFIs, budgeting, financial reporting, cost forecasting, billing, schedule adherence, quality control, and turnover/close-out.
Ensure project permits, inspections, tests, and procurement activities support the schedule.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with project teams, clients, owner’s representatives, design teams, subcontractors, and others; manage OAC activities.
Ensure effective use of resources, including Construction Technology, Sustainability, Lean practices, and self-perform work.
Work collaboratively with Superintendent(s) and field management to plan, organize, and direct site activities; resolve field issues.
Supervise project staff, providing training and development.
Champion company culture, policies, procedures, ethics, and professionalism.
Actively promote safety culture and practices; participate in safety meetings and reinforce objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of progressive experience with a strong project background in the Advanced Technology market sector, including a portfolio with key clients, building types, and varied delivery methods.
Industry certifications/accreditation, including OSHA 10, LEED AP, and/or DBIA preferred.
Proficient with scheduling, budgeting, and estimating software.
Ability to develop detailed project schedules.
Strong interpersonal communication skills and proven ability to effectively lead teams.
Strong skill set as a builder and in project management, with a solid record of success.
