The ideal candidate should have 3+ years of experience with full-cycle property accounting ( ideally residential/multifamily properties). Yardi, MRI, and/or RealPage, and within commuting distance to Orlando, FL. This is not a remote position but offers a hybrid work schedule. 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

Our company, a leading player in the engineering industry, is looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our team. This is a permanent position offering a hybrid work environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of our property portfolio, which includes multifamily residences, apartments, units, and mixed-use properties.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all financial aspects of the property portfolio, including but not limited to accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Conduct year-end close processes, including reconciliation of accounts, preparation of tax returns, and coordination with external auditors.
  • Develop and implement efficient financial management systems and processes to improve financial performance and control.
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to property managers and other stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts for the properties.
  • Liaise with property managers, tenants, and other stakeholders to resolve financial issues and ensure smooth operation of the properties.
  • Participate in property acquisition and disposal processes, providing financial analysis and advice to support decision-making.
  • Keep abreast of developments in property accounting and financial management, and ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of four years’ experience in property accounting or financial management, preferably in the engineering industry. Experience with multifamily residences, apartments, units, and mixed-use properties will be particularly valuable.
  • Strong knowledge of property accounting principles and practices, including year-end close processes.
  • Excellent financial analysis skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software and other IT systems relevant to property accounting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve financial issues effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to adapt to a hybrid work environment.
