We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our team. This role specializes in multi-family property accounting and will be responsible for overseeing the financial and accounting aspects of our extensive portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with a particular focus on multi-family property accounting. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work with a diverse and dynamic team, and to contribute to our company's financial growth and stability.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all aspects of multi-family property accounting, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger (GL).
2. Responsible for cash management of the assigned portfolio, including funding requests, cash flow projections, and bank reconciliations.
3. Assist with the acquisition of new properties, including financial analysis, due diligence, and integration into our accounting system.
4. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties.
5. Perform budget variance analysis and provide explanations for significant variances.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our Yardi property management software.
7. Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary information for the annual audit.
8. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations and filing requirements.
9. Provide financial guidance and support to property managers and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A CPA or other relevant certification is highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, with a focus on multi-family properties.
3. Proficiency in Yardi property management software is a must.
4. Strong understanding of cash management processes and procedures.
5. Experience with accounts reconciliations, AP, AR, and budget variance.
6. Proven track record of assisting with new acquisitions of property.
7. Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and detail.
8. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
9. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
10. Proactive and independent problem solver who can handle pressure in a fast-paced environment.
