We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our team. This is a permanent role that offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment in the Accounting + Finance industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property accounting and real estate, with proficiency in Yardi, MRI, and RealPage software. If you have a passion for numbers, a knack for financial analysis, and a keen eye for detail, this could be the perfect role for you.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a portfolio of multifamily properties.
2. Manage all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for assigned properties, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, GAAP, and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
3. Perform regular and ad-hoc financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and potential issues; provide recommendations for action.
4. Coordinate with property managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely information flow.
5. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts; monitor performance against budget.
6. Manage the accounts payable process, including vendor management and invoice processing.
7. Collaborate with internal and external auditors as needed.
8. Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting, preferably in the real estate industry.
3. Prior experience with Big 4 accounting firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG) preferred.
4. Proficiency in Yardi, MRI, and RealPage software required.
5. Strong knowledge of GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
8. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
9. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
10. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
