Job Details

Responsibilities

As a Senior Property Accountant, you will:

1. Oversee the financial management of a portfolio of properties, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
2. Conduct thorough CAM reconciliations and lease audits to ensure accurate billing and expense recovery.
3. Utilize Yardi software to manage and track all property accounting functions.
4. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
5. Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
6. Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and recommendations.
7. Participate in the preparation of year-end audit and tax return schedules.
8. Use your knowledge of fund accounting to manage and allocate funds effectively.
9. Maintain the general ledger (GL) and perform monthly reconciliations.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting or a related field.
2. Proficiency in Yardi or a similar property management software.
3. Strong knowledge of fund accounting, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
4. Experience with CAM reconciliations and lease audits.
5. Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements.
6. Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
9. CPA certification is preferred but not required.
