Job Details
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Property Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing and managing all aspects of property accounting, including but not limited to, the preparation of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting.
2. Performing detailed general ledger account analysis and reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with GAAP.
3. Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual income statements, identifying trends, variances, and areas of improvement.
4. Collaborating with the property management team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of property financial results.
5. Participating in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing input based on historical trends and future projections.
6. Assisting in the preparation of audit schedules, compliance reports, and tax returns.
7. Implementing and maintaining internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
8. Providing guidance and support to junior staff, fostering an environment of learning and development.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Senior Property Accountant role, you must meet the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Progressive experience in property accounting, preferably in the real estate industry.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts, and corporate procedures.
4. Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting complex income statements and balance sheets.
5. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
6. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and accounting software.
7. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills.
8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial colleagues.
9. A proactive approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
