We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-motivated Senior Property Accountant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to leverage their skills and experience in accounting and finance within the commercial property industry. The successful candidate will be a key player in our financial reporting and will be responsible for a variety of tasks including CAM reconciliations and general ledger (GL) management. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of commercial property accounting including, but not limited to, CAM reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger management.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties.
- Review and approve tenant billings and adjustments.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify and resolve issues, gaps or variances in the financial data.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and controls.
- Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting and analysis of financial data.
- Assist with annual budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. A CPA or other relevant certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial property accounting.
- Proven experience with CAM reconciliations, GL, commercial, and financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and accounting software. Experience with Yardi or similar property management software is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial personnel.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
