We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our fast-paced finance team. This is a permanent position that offers an exceptional opportunity to grow with a market-leading company. You will play a crucial role in the financial management of our vast portfolio of properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing strategic insights to drive business growth.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Property Accountant, you will have the following responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
2. Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
3. Process accounts payable in a timely manner, ensuring all payments are accurate and authorized.
4. Prepare and submit local, state, and federal tax filings.
5. Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the CFO's attention.
6. Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
7. Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with GAAP.
8. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
9. Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions.
10. Prepare budget forecasts and assist in the preparation of annual budgets.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Property Accountant position should possess the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in a property accountant role or similar.
3. Solid understanding and proficiency in account reconciliation, general ledger, accounts payable, and tax preparation.
4. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting best practices.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
6. Strong analytical skills with a thorough attention to detail.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Ability to work independently, manage large, complex projects, and meet deadlines.
9. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
10. Proven leadership skills and the ability to drive and manage change.
