We are on the hunt for a dynamic and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our thriving team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of properties. As a Senior Property Accountant, you will be responsible for handling all financial aspects of property management, including working with lease administrators , year-end close, and ensuring the accuracy of delinquency reports. You will be a key player in our team, providing crucial financial insights and reports to support our business decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the general ledger and prepare monthly bank reconciliations for assigned properties.
  • Ensure delinquency reports are accurate and liaise with property management about serious delinquencies.
  • Understand and interpret lease terminology, working closely with Lease Administrators.
  • Prepare personal property tax listings and monitor sales/use tax for owners.
  • Handle the accruals process and ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Lead the year-end close process, including the preparation and review of financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Use Yardi and MRI software to manage and analyze property accounts.
  • Provide financial analysis and reports as required by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting is essential.
  • Proficiency in Yardi and MRI software is a preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, lease terminology, and property management.
  • Experience with year-end close, accruals, and bank reconciliation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus.
