Senior Software Engineer

Are you a forward-thinking software engineer with a desire to make a meaningful impact? Rapidly growing insurance company has been building out their software engineering department. They are looking for a Senior-level software engineer to join their core team focused on transforming a SaaS software and adding new features. This is an opportunity to take ownership and drive change in a highly technical environment and would be a mix of architecture and engineering. Ideally someone with a strong background in Java or C# and industry experience in SaaS, fintech, insurance, or similar.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and contribute ideas to a team of developers focused on revamping and building new features into a SaaS product.
• Collaborate with team to design, develop, and optimize microservices-based architectures.
• Dive into a legacy system, analyze the codebase, and implement impactful changes.
• Potential opportunity to transition from a senior development role into a leadership position, guiding your team through complex projects.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align on project objectives and ensure effective communication across all levels.
• Drive technical excellence within the team, promoting best practices in software development and problem-solving.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.
• Maintain a deep understanding of the insurance industry to ensure that our software solutions meet market demands.

Requirements:

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 4-10+ years of professional engineering experience in Java. Also open to C# folks open to learning Java.
• Familiarity with microservices and cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Ability to analyze and optimize SaaS platforms effectively
• Proven track record of delivering impactful changes to systems or platforms.
• Confidence in discussing architectural concepts, providing solutions, and an example experience you can discuss
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a range of stakeholders.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience with technologies such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, or Socotra.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
