Position Summary
The Senior Staff Accountant will be a key member of the accounting team, responsible for supporting the monthly close process, financial reporting, internal controls, and audits. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, and hands-on experience navigating the fast-paced and evolving environment of a growth-stage biotech company.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage areas of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes (e.g., accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations).
Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Assist in SEC reporting and SOX compliance (if applicable).
Ensure accurate coding of transactions and adherence to internal controls.
Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Procurement, and R&D teams to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
Support annual audits and tax compliance efforts by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
Help implement and improve systems, policies, and procedures to scale accounting operations as the company grows.
Participate in ERP system improvements and automation initiatives.
Stay current with changes in accounting standards and biotech industry best practices.
