Job Title: Senior Staff Accountant, Tax
Compensation: $72k - $85k/year, based on experience
Location: Ottawa, ON (Hybrid work environment)

Job Details

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join a growing Tax team. This is an exciting opportunity for a CPA-designated professional, or someone nearing designation, who is passionate about tax and ready to take the next step in their career.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare corporate, personal, and trust tax returns with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Review simple tax returns prepared by junior staff, offering guidance and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to resolve tax-related queries and ensure compliance.
  • Participate in tax planning and advisory engagements under the guidance of senior tax professionals.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of tax processes and client service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • CPA designation (or in final stages of completion).
  • 2+ years of experience in public accounting, ideally within the tax department of a mid-sized firm or in audit with significant tax exposure.
  • Demonstrated interest and commitment to developing a career in tax.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in tax software (e.g., CaseWare, TaxPrep) and Microsoft Office Suite.
