Job Details

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Staff Accountant for our fast-paced non-profit industry team. This position plays a pivotal role in our organization, ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and possess the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently. They will have a keen eye for detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, and a strong desire to exceed expectations. The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Finance Manager and work closely with other team members to achieve the company's financial goals.

Responsibilities:
1. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including: balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, ledger entries, and non-profit accounting.
2. Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department.
3. Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
4. Analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices.
5. Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary.
6. Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
7. Coordinate accounting staff and assess their performance.
8. Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts.
9. Participate in preparation for the annual audit.
10. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
2. Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the medical industry or a non-profit organization.
3. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional skills in Excel.
5. Experience with a large-scale accounting system, such as QuickBooks or equivalent.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with excellent organizational skills.
8. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
11. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
