Job Details
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Superintendent to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to bring their expertise to a flourishing construction company. The Senior Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, managing subcontractors, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects and leading teams to success.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Superintendent, your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Overseeing all phases of the construction project from initial planning to completion.
2. Reading, interpreting, and executing construction blueprints and drawings with precision and accuracy.
3. Leading, managing, and coordinating the work of subcontractors and construction teams.
4. Conducting regular site inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards and building codes.
5. Negotiating contracts with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring the best value for the company.
6. Implementing effective strategies for cost control and change orders.
7. Ensuring the project stays on schedule and within budget, making adjustments as necessary.
8. Liaising with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and clients, to ensure all parties are aligned with the project's progress and expectations.
9. Managing and resolving any issues or problems that arise during the project.
10. Utilizing project management tools and methodologies to track project progress and performance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Senior Superintendent position will have:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior supervisory role within the construction industry.
2. Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, cost control, blueprint reading, strategic planning, project management, team leadership, subcontracting, change orders, and construction drawings.
3. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards successful project completion.
4. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
6. Proficiency in using project management software and tools.
7. A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
8. Certifications such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) would be an advantage.
