Job Details
Responsibilities:
You should have most of the following:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and foreign individual, partnership, corporate, fiduciary, gift and estate, and private foundation tax returns
- Prepare local jurisdiction tax reports and information statements as requested
- Prepare and review work papers and lead sheets
- Prepare and review tax projections and related estimated payments, analyze client information and offer recommendations for reducing tax liabilities
- Use of tax preparation software
- Assist with general administrative functions of the Tax Department
- General accounting for client businesses to be used in preparing income tax returns, including preparation of trial balances and related proposed adjusting journal entries
- Review and analysis of client balance sheet accounts for tax adjustments
- Use of commercial accounting software
You should have most of the following:
- Several years of tax preparation or related experience
- Working knowledge of accounting through general ledger/financial statements
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with tax and accounting software
- Must be organized with attention to detail and follow-up
- Must work well with deadlines
- Strong analytical skills and be results oriented
- Effective communication skills for collaborative projects
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Strong work ethic with a high degree of professionalism
- Ability to work overtime as appropriate
- Must be able to maintain regular and punctual in-office attendance
