We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our fast-paced and innovative Accounting + Finance team. This position is permanent and full-time, offering the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients and gain exposure to various industries. The Senior Tax Accountant will play a vital role in the preparation and review of corporate tax returns, tax planning, income tax, and S Corp. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with a focus on tax accounting.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Tax Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Accurately preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with state and federal tax laws.
2. Implementing effective tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize client profitability.
3. Preparing income tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations.
4. Advising clients on the tax implications of their business objectives, recommending strategies, and resolving tax-related issues.
5. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including new filing practices, deadlines, and any company-specific information.
6. Collaborating with the auditing team to ensure financial audits are completed accurately and on time.
7. Preparing quarterly and annual tax reports.
8. Assisting with internal control testing and documentation.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Senior Tax Accountant position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax accounting role with a focus on corporate tax returns, tax planning, income tax, and S Corp.
3. In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
4. Proficient in tax software and databases, as well as MS Office, particularly Excel.
5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
9. Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
