Qualifications:
Tax Planning and Strategy:
- Develop and execute comprehensive tax strategies to optimize clients' tax positions and minimize liabilities.
- Identify opportunities for tax savings through innovative tax planning techniques and stay updated on changing tax laws and regulations.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of complex tax issues, providing strategic recommendations to clients.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Prepare and review complex tax returns, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Oversee the timely filing of tax returns, extensions, and estimated tax payments.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather required financial information and supporting documentation for tax filings.
Client Advisory and Consultation:
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert guidance on tax-related matters and assisting with tax-related inquiries and audits.
- Proactively identify tax planning opportunities and provide innovative solutions to optimize clients' financial outcomes.
- Collaborate with clients' financial and legal teams to ensure alignment and integration of tax strategies.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Conduct regular tax compliance reviews to identify potential risks and implement appropriate controls and processes.
- Stay updated on evolving tax laws and regulations, ensuring clients' compliance and advising on potential impacts.
- Assist in responding to tax authorities' inquiries, audits, and notices, providing necessary support and documentation.
Team Leadership and Mentoring:
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior tax team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Review and supervise the work of tax associates, ensuring quality and adherence to established standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree in Taxation or a relevant certification (e.g., CPA) is highly preferred.
- Extensive experience (3+ years) in tax accounting, planning, and compliance, preferably within a public accounting firm or corporate tax department.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in tax software and accounting systems, with exceptional skills in data analysis and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
