A rapidly growing 100 person CPA firm with multiple offices in NC is currently hiring remote friendly Senior Tax Managers and Tax Managers! We are currently seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Permanent Senior Tax Manager to join a dynamic Accounting + Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced and challenging environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and monitoring tax duties of our company and its subsidiaries. You will be leading a team of tax professionals and will be the main point of contact for all tax-related issues. Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the company's tax planning, compliance, and provision activities.
- Oversee and manage the preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions.
- Ensure accurate, timely filing of international, federal, state and local income tax returns.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
- Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of the company's US federal income tax return and state tax returns.
- Manage and coordinate tax audits.
- Maintain tax balances on general ledger.
- Prepare and review tax calculations, estimates, reports and work papers.
- Lead and coordinate ad-hoc tax-driven business initiatives.
- Manage the tax process and implement short and long-term tax savings strategies by collaborating with the various functional areas of our company.
- Research and interpret tax law.
- Provide leadership and support to junior staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a CPA certification is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in public accounting or a combination of public accounting and corporate tax environment.
- Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
- Familiarity with U.S. federal, state and local reporting requirements.
- Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements.
- Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks.
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage and lead team to deliver high performance and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multi-task.
