Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Accountant with a strong understanding of revenue recognition under ASC 606. This role will play a critical part in ensuring accurate and compliant revenue accounting, while also contributing to the month-end close and supporting broader financial reporting efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical accounting background and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the review and application of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards to customer contracts, ensuring accurate and compliant revenue reporting.
Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Legal, Operations) to understand contract terms and their accounting implications.
Prepare and maintain revenue recognition workbooks, contract review memos, and supporting documentation.
Support month-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules for internal and external reporting.
Contribute to ongoing process improvements and system enhancements related to revenue accounting.
Monitor evolving accounting standards and provide technical guidance and memos to management as needed.
Support audits (internal and external) by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor requests.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years focused on technical accounting and ASC 606.
Solid understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced marketing or professional services environment.
