Job Details
Experience
- Mid-level or senior-level experience on engineering infrastructure projects or related field
- Familiarity with local agency and utility owner regulations, i.e., domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm drain, telecommunications, electrical facilities, etc. best practices and performance standards
- Certified Engineer-in-Training
- A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Bentley Software
- Provides engineering design support while working under the direction of project/task lead and/or registered civil engineer
- Work with design-builder to support overall utility coordination in order to facilitate utility relocations and impact mitigations
- Support project managers in delivery of the project/construction management support services for construction of aerial roadways, widening, bridge structures, and improved roadway circulation in and out of LAX
- Research utility asbuilt and record maps
- Coordinate overhead to underground relocations of Los Angeles Department of Water & Power facilities
- Documentation of utility owner and design-builder milestones and project commitments
- Design review of utility relocation plan and profile construction plans
- Prepare engineering deliverables and implements appropriate corrective actions
- Manage, design, develop, create and maintain projects
- Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
- Technical writing and preparation of technical memorandums, reports, and feasibility studies
- Develop CAD base maps and modeling databases in Civil 3D or related modeling software
- Familiarity with quantity takeoffs, cost estimate and schedule preparation
- Ability to read and analyze survey documentation, easements, and entitlement reports
- Construction plan and profile preparation
- Development of construction cross sections and vertical design profiles
- Analyze contract documents, shop drawings, specifications, RFI (request for information) for compliance with codes, project specifications, and Agency/Owner design criteria
- Prepare and Submit Permits to Comply with Federal, State, and Local Regulations
- Preparation of construction redlines and as-builts
- Understanding of Caltrans utility encroachment policies
- Coordinates projects with utility companies, railroad, and city, county, and state agencies when required
- Daily coordination with other project discipline representatives and teams
