This role is perfect for individuals who have a deep understanding of diesel truck, trailer, or heavy equipment mechanics, and can effectively manage safety, training, schedules, and budgets.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Service Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
1. Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service department, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
2. Leading and managing a team of technicians, providing them with the necessary training and support to enhance their skills and performance.
3. Developing and implementing schedules that optimize productivity and ensure timely delivery of services.
4. Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations, fostering a safe and healthy work environment.
5. Managing the service department's budget, making sure all expenses are within the allocated funds.
6. Constantly reviewing and updating processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
7. Liaising with other department heads to ensure seamless integration and cooperation.
8. Handling customer complaints and issues, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
9. Keeping abreast of the latest developments in diesel truck, trailer, and heavy equipment mechanics.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of diesel truck, trailer, or heavy equipment mechanics.
3. Proven experience in managing safety protocols, training programs, schedules, and budgets.
4. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
5. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex issues effectively.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with team members, other department heads, and customers effectively.
7. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
8. A strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.
9. A degree in a relevant field would be an added advantage.
