Job Details
Our client is seeking an experienced SharePoint and Content Management Consultant to lead the overhaul of their current SharePoint environment and bring structure, clarity, and visual polish to their digital content ecosystem. This role is ideal for a content management guru who blends technical knowledge with user-focused design sensibilities to build an intuitive and aesthetically pleasing SharePoint experience.
Key Objectives:
Assess and audit existing SharePoint and CMS content
Organize, archive, and refresh outdated content
Rebuild or redesign SharePoint sites to be visually engaging, modern, and user-friendly
Develop a scalable content taxonomy and governance framework
Provide training and documentation to ensure internal teams can maintain structure going forward
Responsibilities:
Conduct stakeholder interviews to understand content needs and workflows
Evaluate existing SharePoint site structures, permissions, and content relevance
Redesign site architecture and layout using modern SharePoint features (e.g., communication sites, web parts, metadata-driven navigation)
Develop and implement a content lifecycle strategy (versioning, ownership, archival)
Improve search functionality and tagging for ease of content discovery
Provide branding enhancements to align SharePoint sites with corporate identity
Deliver hands-on training or workshops for internal users
Create governance documentation and best practices
Required Skills & Experience:
5+ years of experience with SharePoint Online (modern experience preferred)
Deep knowledge of content management systems and digital organization best practices
Strong SharePoint design skills—able to make it both functional and visually appealing
Experience implementing metadata, taxonomies, and automated workflows
Understanding of user experience (UX) principles and intuitive interface design
Strong communication skills for gathering requirements and presenting solutions
Bonus: experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, or third-party CMS platforms
Ideal Candidate Profile:
A "fixer" who thrives in environments with outdated, disorganized, or underutilized content
Highly collaborative and proactive in recommending improvements
Capable of translating technical possibilities into practical business outcomes
