As a Sheet Metal Fabricator, you will deliver top-notch, precision-crafted metal products. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, using a range of machinery and techniques. You will be responsible for creating and assembling parts and products that meet our clients' exacting standards. This position is permanent and full-time, offering a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities:
1. Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products, setting up and operating fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, routers, and punch press.
2. Develop and lay out patterns that use materials most efficiently, using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and protractors.
3. Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications, using squares, rulers, and inspection equipment.
4. Study engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, or work orders to determine the specifications, type and quantity of required materials, and the best sequence of operations.
5. Compute dimensions, tolerances, and angles of workpieces or machines, according to specifications and knowledge of metal properties and shop mathematics.
6. Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure all specifications are met and the final product is of the highest quality.
7. Maintain the safety of the work environment by following all safety protocols and regulations, keeping work areas clean and organized, and reporting any safety concerns to management immediately.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role in the manufacturing industry, with a proven track record of precision and quality in sheet metal fabrication.
2. Proficiency in operating fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, routers, and punch press.
3. Strong knowledge of metal properties, shop mathematics, and the ability to compute dimensions, tolerances, and angles of workpieces or machines.
4. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and sketches.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
7. Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, with a thorough understanding of workplace safety protocols and regulations.
8. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or training in metal fabrication is a plus.
