We are seeking a passionate and experienced Consulting Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic team within the Healthcare industry. This position plays a critical role in developing and implementing specialized teaching strategies for individuals with unique learning needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Special Education, coupled with a deep understanding of healthcare practices and protocols. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in Special Education teaching and a strong commitment to improving patient outcomes through education and support.

Responsibilities:

1. Assess and evaluate the educational needs and abilities of individuals with special needs within a healthcare setting.
2. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families.
3. Consult with healthcare professionals on a regular basis to ensure the educational needs of patients are being met and to discuss any potential improvements or modifications to teaching strategies.
4. Provide ongoing education and training to healthcare staff on best practices for educating and communicating with patients with special needs.
5. Advocate for the educational rights and needs of patients within the healthcare setting.
6. Monitor and document patient progress regularly, adjusting educational plans and strategies as needed.
7. Foster a supportive and inclusive educational environment that encourages patient engagement and promotes learning.
8. Stay current with latest research and best practices in Special Education, particularly as it relates to the healthcare industry.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Special Education Teacher.
3. Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
4. Experience working within the healthcare industry or in a healthcare setting is highly preferred.
5. Excellent understanding of the principles and practices of Special Education.
6. Proven ability to develop and implement effective IEPs.
7. Strong advocacy skills with a commitment to promoting the educational rights and needs of individuals with special needs.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
9. Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of individuals with special needs in a healthcare setting.
10. Current knowledge of latest research and trends in Special Education.
11. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in challenging situations.
12. High level of compassion, patience, and understanding for individuals with special needs.
