Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and adults with special needs? Do you have a background in special education and healthcare? If so, we are seeking an experienced Consulting Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic team in the healthcare industry. This role involves working closely with healthcare professionals, families, and individuals with moderate to severe disabilities to create and implement effective educational programs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that come with teaching and supporting individuals with special needs. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits package.

Responsibilities:
As a Consulting Special Education Teacher, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) for patients with moderate to severe disabilities.
2. Providing consultation and guidance to families and healthcare staff regarding the educational needs and progress of patients.
3. Utilizing evidence-based teaching strategies and interventions to promote academic, social, and emotional growth.
4. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of educational programs and making necessary modifications.
5. Providing training and support to healthcare staff to enhance their understanding and skills in working with patients with special needs.
6. Advocating for the educational rights and needs of patients in the healthcare setting.
7. Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and plan for future needs.
8. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current trends and research in special education and healthcare.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Special Education Teacher.
2. Valid California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) Moderate/Severe Disabilities Education Specialist Instruction Credential.
3. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, or a related field.
4. Experience working with individuals with moderate to severe disabilities in a healthcare setting.
5. Strong knowledge of evidence-based teaching strategies and interventions for individuals with special needs.
6. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
7. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
8. Commitment to advocating for the educational rights and needs of individuals with special needs.
9. Willingness to stay updated with current trends and research in special education and healthcare.
