We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our healthcare team. This position is a permanent role that requires a minimum of 2+ years of experience in the field. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a learning curriculum tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities in a healthcare setting. This role requires a high degree of empathy, patience, and creativity to help our students reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with various types and degrees of disabilities.

2. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, therapists, and families to ensure that the student's health and educational needs are being met.

3. Utilize adaptive learning equipment and technologies to improve student learning experiences.

4. Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary.

5. Create a positive, structured learning environment to enhance student learning and socio-emotional growth.

6. Provide guidance and instruction in a manner that promotes independence and self-sufficiency.

7. Deliver differentiated instruction and adapt teaching methods to meet students' varying needs and interests.

8. Advocate for the educational and healthcare needs of students in meetings with other professionals and family members.

9. Attend professional development trainings and stay updated on current research and best practices in special education and healthcare.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.

2. Minimum of 1+ years of experience as a Special Education Teacher.

3. Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.

4. Experience working with students with various disabilities.

5. Knowledge of adaptive technologies and assistive devices.

6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

7. Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of professionals.

8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

9. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs.

10. Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
