We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consulting Special Education Teacher to join our team in the Healthcare industry. This individual will play a pivotal role in providing specialized education services to students with a range of disabilities and special needs, supporting their academic and personal growth. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of our special education programs and services, ensuring they are tailored to meet individual students' needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs and abilities.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, parents, and other staff to ensure that the educational, medical, and emotional needs of students are met.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting teaching methods and strategies as needed.
- Provide guidance and support to general education teachers in implementing modifications and accommodations for students with special needs.
- Advocate for students' rights and needs within the school and healthcare settings.
- Participate in meetings and professional development sessions to stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in special education.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and enhances student confidence.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques appropriate to students' abilities, learning styles, and needs.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid South Carolina teaching license with a multi-cat endorsement.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Special Education Teacher.
- Experience working in a multi-cat classroom at Cottageville Elementary or equivalent is required.
- Degree in Special Education or a related field is required.
- Excellent knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong ability to develop and implement effective IEPs.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate with a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and diverse healthcare environment.
- Compassionate, patient, and understanding, with a genuine passion for helping students with special needs.
