Job Details
We are actively seeking a seasoned Sr. Benefits Specialist to join our dynamic team in the energy industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and administering employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and providing excellent service to our employees. This role will be a key player in the design, implementation, and management of benefits programs and will be responsible for ensuring that these programs align with the company's strategic objectives. This is a permanent, full-time position, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
1. Administer and manage all aspects of employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, 401(k), leave of absences, and wellness programs.
2. Ensure compliance with all government regulations including COBRA, FLMA, ERISA, and other applicable laws.
3. Utilize Workday to maintain employee benefits data, process benefits changes, and generate reports.
4. Work closely with benefits brokers and vendors to ensure effective administration of benefits programs.
5. Conduct benefits orientations and other benefits training for employees and management.
6. Manage annual open enrollment process including preparation of materials, conducting informational sessions, and processing changes.
7. Provide excellent service to employees by answering benefits-related questions, resolving issues, and providing information as needed.
8. Participate in benefits surveys and benchmarking activities to ensure competitive benefits offerings.
9. Assist in the development and implementation of new benefits programs and initiatives.
10. Prepare and maintain benefits communications and documentation.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in benefits administration, preferably in the energy industry.
3. Strong knowledge of benefits regulations including COBRA, FLMA, ERISA, and other applicable laws.
4. Proficiency in using Workday or similar HRIS systems.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
7. High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation is a plus.
9. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
10. Strong customer service orientation, with a commitment to providing excellent service to employees.
